WWE ISSUES PRESS RELEASE REGARDING SUCCESS OF MELBOURNE SHOW

WWE PRESENTS AWESOME SHOW IN MELBOURNE ON SATURDAY 10TH AUGUST, DESPITE NO HOGAN

The WWE Global Warning Tour in Melbourne was an awesome show, with some 55,700 plus fans in attendance, setting a record for Colonial Stadium. This show received major mainstream press recognition, and they will be back again in 2002 and 2003. Hint to WWE...next time you advertise a top line star (like Hulk Hogan), please deliver on the promise.

The main even was The Rock vs Triple H v Brock Lesnar, where The Rock defended his title. Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman cut a promo saying that it was Lesnar the ended Hogan's career, and that's why Australia is not seeing Hogan. It is now widely believed that Hogan and McMahon could not come to terms, and that is the real reason Hogan was not on the show, and they wrote him out of the script.

TRIPLE H BIDS AND BUYS HOGAN PORTRAIT AT CHARITY DINNER IN MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

As the WWE Global Warning Tour Melbourne, bought to you by X-Box, draws closer the city of Melbourne is preparing for a huge festival of wrestling action. The Global Warning event occurs at Colonial Stadium on Saturday August 10 and this, and a host of related events, are coming to fruition.

WWE CHANGES AND HULK HOGAN NOT COMING!

We are very very disappointed to report that Hulk Hogan will not be coming to Australia. This journalist happens to think that is the worst thing that WWE's CEO's Vince and Linda McMahon could do to this great market for them. If they expect to sell more 50,000 arenas in Australia, ever, ever again, they have another thing coming. What the heck is going on here, for Hogan to not even be on the plane, let alone step into the ring.

WWE GLOBAL WARNING TOUR MELBOURNE
- AFTER HOURS HUBS
Helping set the scene for the WWE Global Meltdown Tour Melbourne, five selected venues have been appointed as the WWE Global Warning After Hours Hubs. The Whisky Bar, Odeon Nightclub, 9th Ward, The Carron and Altitude will be rocking from Thursday 7th August through Saturday 10th August, with WWE themed nights, WWE Global Warning Tour Melbourne ticket giveaways and other action.

A promotion of the City of Melbourne the enthusiasm of these venues to become a part of the excitement shows that Melbourne has totally embraced the arrival of the WWE Superstars in the city.

WWE FAN FRENZY @ CROWN SHOWROOM
- THURSDAY AUGUST 8 AND FRIDAY AUGUST 9
This special event occurs at the Crown Showroom on Thursday August 8 and Friday August 9. Eight two-hour sessions of Fan Frenzy are happening over the two days.

WWE Fan Frenzy resembles Fan Axxess, the interactive fan experience that has preceded WrestleMania in recent years. WrestleMania is the biggest event on the sports-entertainment calendar. This year’s Fan Axxess, in Toronto, attracted more than 30,000 fans in three days. Like Axxess, Fan Frenzy features a wide range of interactive exhibits.

One of the most popular features of Axxess, the Fantasy Play-by-Play, will also be available in the Crown Showroom. Fans, sitting in front of a big-screen television that shows exciting in-ring action, can call the match just like WWE commentators. They even walk away with a free videotape of their performance.

But perhaps the most popular of all features at Fan Frenzy will be the Autograph Booths that allow fans to see their favorite Superstars up close and in person. Several Superstars will sign autographs at each Fan Frenzy session, a fact that pleases WWE fans and Superstars alike.

At the Hall of Fame exhibit, fans can spread their palms into the sprawling life size hand moulds from Andre the Giant and the Big Show. Fans can get an even better understanding of the Superstars size and physique by snapping their pictures next to life-sized cutouts.

History buffs aren’t the only ones who’ll have plenty to do at Fan Frenzy. The festival has plenty to offer technophiles, beginning with an arena-sized screen plugged into the Microsoft XBOX that will allow gamers the chance to compete on the hot new video game “WWE RAW.” Several other XBOX kiosks will be spread throughout the showroom, allowing fans to test their skills against one another. The lucky fan that defeats all the other challengers gets the ultimate prize of competing against a WWE Superstar.

Live Band ‘Pacer 21’ fresh from the ‘Vans Warped Tour’ features in every session whilst roaming hostesses applying temporary tattoos to Fans who want to make their mark.

Also planned for Fan Frenzy is a ring-like stage where Superstars will appear to answer fans’ questions. A select few will even get called into the ring to compete for prizes in competition officiated by the WWE Superstars.

Several other areas, such as Body Slam and The Cage allow fans to interact with Superstars while competing against each other in WWE trivia and physical competitions.

Add to this, the opportunity to purchase Official Global Warning Tour Melbourne Merchandise in the Shop zone and the range of WWE DVD’s at the Shock Shop, and you have an event that no wrestling fan can afford to miss!

All tickets for the four Friday sessions have sold out, as has the final session on Thursday. A limited number of tickets are available for three Thursday sessions (11.00am, 2.00pm and 5.00pm), however these tickets are selling fast. Fans wanting a ticket for this not to be missed event should visit www.ticketek.com

WWE GLOBAL WARNING MELBOURNE CHARITY GALA DINNER

Challenge: a cancer support network is Victoria’s major provider of support services to children and their families living with cancer and other life-threatening blood disorders. Challenge provides more than $1.5 million of services each year aimed at improving the quality of life of these children and their families. This is achieved through the provision of a full range of recreational and support services, including Camps, Family Activity Days, Hospital Support, Family Support Programs, Special Outings, and Education.

Challenge is also the oldest cancer support group in Victoria, originally formed more than 20 years ago in 1983 under the auspices of the Red Cross. Challenge’s point of difference is that it provides personal and ongoing relationships with children and their families living with cancer and other life-threatening blood disorders that commences from the time of diagnosis and is available to the families for as long as they require access to it.

Challenge receives no government assistance and relies on a number of key sponsorships within the private sector and the goodwill of its supporters and community groups. Challenge has a small group of staff, which is funded through a private sponsor, thus ensuring that 100% of funds raised through other sponsorships and public fund-raising is applied to direct service delivery. Challenge has more than 300 volunteers who act as leaders on camps and activities.
