Voice news media report; Hordern Pavilion, Moore Park, Sydney, Australia - 12th
June 2012 The
Voice enjoyed a media conference at Hordern Pavilion, Moore Park, this morning,
with Voice coaches and finalists there to help promote the smash hit TV show,
as the finals approach via Channel Nine.
Update... The
culling of eight singers from The Voice last night has set the stage for a controversial
finale Channel Nine's talent comp. Rachael
Leahcar, Sarah De Bono, Darren Percival, and Karise Eden will battle it out in
next week's grand final. Only
one singer per team was permitted to go through and critics and viewers took to
Twitter to complain about the final line-up. The
ruling meant fan favourites on the same team were culled. Both
Leahcar and Percival battled a virus as well as the high-pressure nerves, which
told in their limited vocal performances last night. Good
Charlotte rock god Joel Madden, who had culled Prinnie Stevens and Layken Heperi,
chose Sarah DeBono over popular lad Ben Hazlewood. During
the show's preamble, Madden likened the semi-final line-up to The X Men: "We
all have super powers. No one is better than anyone else." The
final performances will be on Sunday, with each contender performing one cover
and one original song. The winner revealed on Monday night, no doubt to massive
TV ratings, the likes of which have not been seen by Nine for years, is the inside
word. Each
contender will perform one cover and one original song. May
the best man or woman win, and hopefully its also a win for the Australian entertainment
industry.

Australian
TV Report With Ratings - The Voice leads... The
Voice leaped to 2.13 million viewers as the talent show heads towards to its finale. That
figure (based on actual broadcast time - not the preliminary figure of 2.15 million)
is up on last Monday's 1.90 million audience in the capital cities and it appears
the two finales on Sunday and Monday should hit around three million viewers for
Nine. The
program gave Nine a 29.6 per cent channel share against Seven's 21.0 per cent
and ABC1's 13.3 per cent, with its current affairs line-up led by 736,000 viewers
for PM Julia Gillard's appearance on Q&A. A
key result for Nine was Tricky Business's performance into its fifth week. Preliminary
figures from OzTAM demonstrate the Aussie drama rose to 1.091 million viewers,
higher than its launch episode in May. But the actual figures based on broadcast
times show the drama starring Gigi Edgley averaged 682,000 viewers with its number
rocketed by The Voice's over-run as "Team Seal" decided its contestant
for Sunday and Monday's finale. Seven
News came in second for the night with 1.55 million viewers and rare wins over
Nine in Sydney and Melbourne. The Block continued to build for Nine, up to 1.49
million in the 7pm slot, besting Masterchef Australia (1.08 million), ABC News
(1.05 million) and Home and Away (1.01 million). Revenge
continued its awesome run for Seven with 1.218 million viewers. ABC1
had a stronger Monday night than usual, led by Q&A. Four Corners was up to
734,000 viewers, Australian Story 719,000 and Media Watch 712,000, all well up
on their 2012 averages in the 600,000 region. Fox
Sports Monday Night Football match between the Panthers and Warriors bested the
platform, with 278,000 viewers while 210,000 watched the afternoon AFL match between
Melbourne and Collingwood. Seven's AFL figures were not yet available for publication.

Week Logie Nominations In Sydney, Australia; News And Lists - 18th March 2012 Tonight
in Sydney, Australia it's the TV Week Logies Nominations. Karl
Stefanovic is battling to snatch back-to-back Gold Logies after nominations for
the TV Week industry awards were announced today. After
surprising many media and entertainment commentators including this agency by
snatching the major prize last year, the Channel 9 Today co-host got both a Silver
and Gold for most popular presenter on Australian TV. Karl
will fight the ABC's Adam Hills, Offspring star Asher Keddie, The Project co-host
Carrie Bickmore, ex Home & Away siren Esther Anderson and Nine comedian presenter
Hamish Blake for the top honours when the TV Week Logies are awarded on April
15. Channel
7 leads the network pack, with 32 nominations across 22 categories, followed by
Ten (26 nominations), the ABC (22 nominations), Nine (21 nominations), pay TV
operator Foxtel (eight nominations) and SBS (seven nominations). While
Packed To The Rafters favourite Rebecca Gibney was overlooked for a Gold Logie
nod this year, she is squared off against her TV daughter Jessica Marais for Silver
as most popular actress. Also
in the running for Silver was Asher Keddie, acknowledged for her double effort
- playing Nina Proudman on Ten's romantic comedy, Offspring, and publishing maverick
Ita Buttrose in the ABC1 docu-drama, Paper Giants: The Birth Of Cleo. Making
their Silver Logie nomination debut are Danielle Cormack (Kate Leigh in Nine's
Underbelly Razor) and Esther Anderson (Charlie Buckton on Seven's soap Home &
Away). In
the TV fight for the boys, the Silver Logie for most popular actor will be fought
between Daniel MacPherson (Wild Boys, Channel 7), Eddie Perfect (Offspring, Ten),
Erik Thomson (Packed To The Rafters, Channel 7), Hugh Sheridan (Packed To The
Rafters, Channel 7) and Ray Meagher (Home & Away, Channel 7). Despite
turning her back on a TV career for a spot on Melbourne breakfast radio this year,
Chrissie Swan secured a nomination as most popular presenter for her role on Ten's
morning chat show, The Circle. The
nominations were held at Sydney's Park Hyatt, hosted by Nine's Natalie Gruzlewski
and Ten's Bondi Vet, Chris Brown. FULL

ONeal Close to WWE WrestleMania Deal?; Latest on Brock Lesnars Return... According
to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Shaquille "Shaq" ONeal has
reportedly been closing in on his WWE WrestleMania deal, and he may have already
agreed to business terms. WWE
creative has been told to start thinking about weaving ONeal into storylines
- likely for a match with The Big Show (Paul Wight). Due
to its John Cena vs. The Rock main-event, WrestleMania 28 is a strong contender
to set the all-time buyrate record, and WWE is striving to do everything it can
to push the interest and buy rates to the moon. Adding Shaquille ONeal into
the equation, especially with Shaq should help further the events must see
statue as WWEs biggest WrestleMania of all-time. Regarding
a Brock Lesnar return, no one has been provided any reason to expect it will happen
at this years WrestleMania, but it might just happen. WWE top brass Vince
McMahon reportedly told at least one creative staff member that it is not a foregone
conclusion a Lesnar return would include the return of Paul Heyman as his manager. Recently
returned WWE Superstar, Chris Jericho, for what its worth, has been having little
verbal jabs at Lesnar, so we will have to see if that develops into something
more. In any event,
this years WrestleMania should be awesome. For

Casino Braces For TV Week Logies; Katy Perry On Despite Lawsuit, by Greg Tingle
- 29th April 2011 Australia's
night of nights - the TV Week Logie Awards are to hit James Packer's Crown Casino
- The Palladium to be exact, and security is to be on high alert as Katy Perry
is to perform despite a lawsuit against ACP Magazines for story she says is not
true. And, security and Crown Casino powers that be have banned mobile devices
in response to last years Twitter-Gate, where one writer was fired for inappropriate
Tweets. Will plastic handcuffs be required and will any footballer players or
guest run a muck? Media Man with the
calm before the storm that is forecast to hit the TV Week Logies at James Packer's
most famous casino... Crown
Casino Expects Huge TV Week Logies Night; Show Must Go On Despite Katy Perry Lawsuit... James
Packer, Australian gambling and media king loves this event - certainly the positives
it brings his world famous Crown Casino in Melbourne - home of the original real
life and TV Underbelly (in with a slight chance of a Logie we hear). On
the 1st of May Australia and the world will know who the Logies winners will be,
and there's going to be plenty of news and gossip stemming from the prestigious
event also. 'The
Teenage Dream'... call her what you will (but we are not sure on the Russell Brand
statue these days before you ask us) has her scheduled performance confirmed at
the Logies On Sunday evening. Not even her lawsuit against ACP Magazines...publishers
of TV Week is going to slow down this runaway train. Parry
who arrived in about 56 hours ago in Melbourne for her down under tour, has fired
off a lawsuit to ACP's women's gossip mag NW claiming it falsely reported that
Perry married for six months to Russell Brand (star of Arthur and all round bloody
funny chap)... has been having an affair with record producer Benny Blanco. It's
implied it was more than a fling. Her
writ, lodged in the Victoria Supreme Court against ACP Magazines, said: "By
reason of the publication of the article, the plaintiff (Perry) has been gravely
injured in her reputation and feelings (and) has suffered distress, embarrassment
and humiliation." The
suit, lodged on Wednesday, has put a shadow over the Logies Awards since ACP -
the main partner of the event - is reportedly remunerating Perry in the region
of $300,000 to perform on the big night. The
publishing firm may even have to more if Perry's suit is successful. Her label
EMI Music yesterday confirmed the pop singer was still due to perform. ACP
spokesman Peter Holder said: "ACP or Nine Entertainment Co have not been
served with any court documents as yet and have no comment to make." It's
understood NW executive editor Corrine Barraclough flew to Melbourne yesterday
to consult with lawyers.

who would be the host, TV Week said Bourne "promises to deliver what he does

Bourne said. "It's an honour to be following in the footsteps of such television
