a few big names expected. Even Van Marcus will front
up. Van, is your Red Ferrari safe this time mate?
We're looking for more good fodder to write about.
How about do a publicity stunt and make world wide
headlines ago. Maybe someone at Crown Casino - Crown
Limited might be open to it. Stanger things have happened...
like Ferrari's getting stolen on site, casino fights
and a man getting stuck in the Crown Casino kitchen
grease vacuum.

Aussie
Millions Plays Celeb Card...
Celeb
poker is still popular, especially down under in Australia,
despite the market becoming somewhat flooded (no pun
re Queensland floods) in recent years. Crown Casino
celeb poker was a red carpet was affair. Enter the
Aussie Millions "Celebrity Poker Challenge".
Perhaps with a tie in to the world famous Studio 54,
Crown's 'Studio 3' at James Packer's prime Australian
casino became party time. The showgirls were impossible
to miss, there was a press pack with paps - mainly
friendly ones, and a DJ to keep people pumped up on
cool music. We're pleased to report that last years
Main Event champion, PartyGaming's PartyPoker
sponsored Tyron Krost was there, and we think it was
a sighting of the Germany Shepherd dog loving Tony
G. Howard "The Professor" Lederer and Barney
Boatman were also in attendance. Insiders saw a few
glimpses of Shane 'Warnie' Warne also, but we missed
Jeff 'Marrickville Mauler' Fenech. Annette '16' (once
upon a time) Obrestad and alleged partner of some
description, Scott Montgomery showed their faces.
The brother of ex WSOP champion, Tony Hachem was seen
getting around on a crutch, apparently carrying an
injury (no, not to the groin, and no, Annie Duke didn't
do it to him, before you ask). Then, our of the shadows
a lovely lady understood to be Ann Peakcock emerged,
who soon passed the stage to Shane Warne, who appears
to be the main face of Crown Casino poker these days,
the other face being Joe Hachem. James Packer still
stays in the background most of the time, but is still
good for a media quote and photo every now and again.
Money raised from the night went to charity, with
some connection to The Shane Warne Foundation and
Variety, and somehow the cash will get to the victims
of the Australian floods, where Queensland is the
worst effected, and unfortunately it appears the death
count is just a touch less than 20, but we will keep
you updated as more news come to hand of the tragedy.
In a nice gesture, Blue ribbons were worn by all in
recognition of the floods that have hit much of Australia.
Before you could say 'Flush' or 'River' things were
transformed into a 4 table team showdown. It was a
top night and we publicly congratulate James Packer
and his world class team and associates for showing
the world how its done.

Kris Smith, Nathan Brown, Nicholas Bolton, Paris Wells,
Paul and Barbara Licuria, Pete Evans, Shane Delia,

Crown
Casino - Event 4: $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Shootout!
The famous poker tournament is already 5 days in punters.
An Aussie and a South African gent have got their
gold rings.
The
shootout format is the talk of the poker world, at
least as far as Aussie Millions goes. To progress
through to the next stage, a player must best all
punters at their poker table in a shootout fashion.
This is the virgin time a shootout tournament has
been run at the Aussie Millions The jet setter pros
have been arriving at James Packers' Crown Casino
and world class poker room.
Names
who appear to be lock ins include Annette '16' Obrestad,
James Akenhead, Scott Montgomery and Jonathan Karamalikis.
A
4th Aussie Millions gold ring is up for grabs, and
more likely than not, within the next 48 hours we
can report on who snatches it.
Aussie
Millions Overview...
Thus
far Crown Casino's Aussie Millions is living up to
its world class status. It got on the way last Thursday
at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia and an
impressive 762 players showed up for the opening event,
a $1,000 buy-in No Limit Holdem tournament.
The series, which includes a grand total of 20 events,
goes thru to Sunday, January 30th and features not
only the prestigious AUD $10,000 buy-in Main Event,
but also the AUD $100,000 High-Roller tournament that
continues to snatch and catch the biggest names in
poker across the globe, year after year. Aussie professional
Martin Drewe was crowned the winner of the first event
at the Crown Casino on Sunday, besting Darren Kramer
heads-up for a prize of AUD $200,000.The 2nd event
- Jared Solomon earned a nice AUD $10,000 via Poker
Pro No Limit Holdem Shootout. Sean Dunwoodie
picked up $1,000 in the Pot Limit Omaha Event #3 for
AUD $37,000 and Soren Blanner won in the $1,100 No
Limit Holdem Shootout Event #4 for AUD $38,000.
The Aussie Millions main event will commence this
Sunday, January 23rd. The AUD $10,000 No Limit Holdem
tournament had 746 entrants last year and is set for
another huge field in 2011. Defending champ, Tyron
Krost snatched AUD $2 million last year after besting
a tough final table that sported Peter Jetten, Annette
Obrestad and Sorel Mizzi. Other former Main Event
champions included Stewart Scott (2009), Alexander
Kostritsyn (2008), Gus Hansen (2007), Lee Nelson (2006),
and Tony Bloom (2004). The AUD $100,000 Challenge
might just be the most anticipated match at Aussie
Million. It's billed as the most expensive tournament
buy-in in the world. The event was first held back
in 2006, getting a modest 10 players. In 2010, the
AUD $100,000 Challenge saw 24 players hit the tables,
with Dan Shak finally beating Phil Ivey for the AUD
$1.2 million winners purse. In 2009, David Steicke
won, coming up best from from a 23 deep pack, snatching
a cool $1.2 million payday. In other upcoming action
there will be an Aussie Millions high-stakes cash
game on 24th January featuring an AUD $200,000 minimum
buy-in. Players who took part in last years
broadcast cash game included Tom "durrrr"
Dwan, Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, Chris Ferguson,
Andrew Feldman, Gus Hansen and Rafi Amit.

PartyGaming Poker Pro Tony G Will Get To Bring Dog
To Poker Table...
It's
a nice move by Tony, PartyGaming,
and maybe, Crown Casino powers that be. The well known
and largely feared poker shark will have at least
one dog (yep, with 4 legs) accompany him to at least
one poker game. Tony had blogged that Zasko the dog
was having some visa and security issues and would
not be able to make it. But now Tony has hooked up
with TJ, another German Shepherd breed to take the
place of MIA Zasko. "As you well know by now
I am not Phil Hellmuth so there will be no flashy
entrance but you have to be impressed that the G has
the weight to get a dog brought into the casino. He
will just be there playing around tilting my
opponents and making the game a bit of fun,"
he blogged. Tony is looking to get TJ a meal inside
the casino and Wagyu beef comes to mid. Tony and TJ,
would you like win with that, and do you pref your
meat raw, medium or well done? Well do for adding
a bit more colour to the already party-time like event.
Security is understood to be at an all time high,
with many of the world's top casinos reporting theft,
fights and fraud matters over the past few years.
Trouble makers, best stay at home, and those who love
to party and love to win, who can also behave themselves,
you are warmly invited. Oh, if you own a fancy sports
car, why not temp fate and park it in the casinos
carpark and see if anyone dares try snatch it. Who
can forget the red Ferrari thief situation and well
as the Crown Casino robbers incidents from a few years
back, and then there was the Crown kitchen grease
trap man. Will lighting strike twice? If its too hot
in the kitchen, best get out. If your prepared to
get cooking with the best of them get your ass to
Crown. In any event, stay tuned to this website portal
for more hot action.

PartyPoker
Reviving Million Dollar Hand in January - 22nd December
2010
In
January, PartyPoker
will be bringing back one of its most popular promotions
ever, the Million Dollar Hand. All you have to do
is make a pair in a five-card poker hand to be awarded
a prize, and a $1 million jackpot is on the line.
Accumulating
cards is quite simple. Youll get one for every
15 PartyPoints you rack up between January 5th and
January 30th. When youve amassed five cards,
youll have a hand. If it contains a pair, then
$3 will be coming your way. If it contains two pair,
then your prize will be upped to $10. If you manage
to score three of a kind, then youll get a $20
cash prize. Thats pretty simple, right?
Players
who land a straight in the Million Dollar Hand will
take home $50, while those who pick up a flush will
see $100 come their way. Players who make a boat will
get $150, while anyone who hits quads will receive
a $1,000 cash prize. Now, were into the big
money, as straight flushes are worth $10,000. Finally,
anyone who manages to score a Royal Flush will divide
a $1 million prize pool, which means if two players
hit it, each person will actually take home $500,000.
If only one person makes a Royal Flush, theyll
take home the seven-figure jackpot.
The
best part about the Million Dollar Hand is that PartyPoker
is awarding every player his or her first card for
free. No play is required! Just log into your PartyPoker
account to see what your first card is.
Now,
lets review some of the terms and conditions
of the PartyPoker
Million Dollar Hand. First, youll only be able
to acquire 10 cards per day for a total of two five-card
poker hands. Second, if you fall short of 15 points,
PartyPoker will carry them over to the next day. Third,
you have to reveal your cards manually. In order to
do so, log into your PartyPoker
account and see what youve amassed. If you dont
reveal your cards, they wont count.
PartyPoker
players will have until the end of the day Eastern
Time on January 31st to reveal any cards theyve
received and only points accumulated at cash game
tables will count. Finally, as text found on PartyPokers
website notes, Cash prizes will be paid
to players within an hour of them revealing their
hand apart from Royal Flush winners, who will be paid
on February 1st.
PartyPoker
is one of the industry leaders when it comes to unique
promotions like the Million Dollar Hand. In fact,
the site is concurrently running a Million Dollar
Hand VIP Points Race for Palladium Lounge members.
Players will earn the same cash prizes as in the Million
Dollar Hand and also rack up points based on their
hands value. The top two spots on the leaderboard
pay out a World Poker Tour (WPT) L.A. Poker Classic
prize package worth $14,000.
The
top 200 spots in the Million Dollar Hand VIP Points
Race pay out, with a minimum prize of $100 up for
grabs. The top 30 spots award four-figures and everyone
who reaches the top 500 scores a seat into the Million
Dollar Hand VIP Freeroll, which doles out a WPT prize
package to its winner. Palladium Lounge members will
receive extra race points for accumulating over 300
PartyPoints in a single day.
According
to the traffic ranking site PokerScout.com, PartyPoker
is the third largest site worldwide in terms of real
money ring game volume with a seven-day running average
of 3,600 players. It just edges out the iPoker Network,
but is well behind PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker,
which rank first and second worldwide, respectively.

Australia To Ban Sale Of Playing Cards, by Greg Tingle
- 1st June 2010
Readers...
dear punters, casino entrepreneurs, sports betting
lovers, poker playing sharks and newbies, you know
who you are.... poker is once again under attack down
under in Australia. No, not online poker this time...
playing cards are the target. If its not the God Squad
trying to ban FHM, Maxim and the like off supermarket
shelves, its their cousins campaigning against the
dreaded pack of cards... Media Man and Gambling911
aren't buying the bluff, nor should you! Shuffle up
and read on..
Down
under in Aussie Land, Kimberley Shire, to be precise,
a campaign is on to prohibit the sale of playing cards.
Local Kununurra is the main offender, and seems children
of all ages are playing 'Poker In The Park'! (maybe
they were watching PKR
3D poker TV, PartyPoker
TV or something). WSOP season is kicking off for Aussies
in a most unusual fashion. Yep, poker has hit the
parks big time.
For
the record Media Man does not condone children breaking
the law, but comon', its bloody poker. Just because
someone is playing the game doesn't mean they are
gambling - playing wagers. They are not playing Strip
Poker either, so where's the harm... (big kids 16
or 18 plus depending upon where you live...can play
Strip Poker ok, but no minors ok).
Wyndham-East
Kimberley Shire chief executive Mr Gaffney advises
a ban on playing cards being sold was "negotiated"
with town retailers. He says they have been getting
a positive result from the ban over the past few weeks.
However,
before you can say Bluff, an itinerant vendor filled
the void and sold cards from a van. Man with a van!
A
few months ago the town shire officials noticed increased
"gambling" in parks, and both youth from
10 years of age, up to fully grown adults were spotted.
Oh My God... send them all to jail (satire). Late
night games were also on the increase.
Police
could only break the groups up and move them on, Gaffney
aka "Killjoy" said.
"We
were walking the parks with the police, our rangers
were trying to break it up during the day and the
general public was feeling it was pretty poor".
"It
was quite evident that kids had quite a lot of money
on them from cards. We're not talking 10, 20, we're
talking hundreds of dollars. We were exasperated by
it."
When
retails stopped selling playing cards the poker games
are the park cooled off, but we're not sure about
the kids and parents online poker gaming exploits.
When
the itinerant vendor started selling cards, other
retailers decided they were missing out and dropped
out of the moratorium!
"We
actually achieved something for a short time. All
we are trying to do is modify behaviour"! They
you go punters, The Thought Police - Control Thoughts,
Control Actions, Control Lives! Where's the PPA when
you need them... get down under boys.
Mr
"Anti Gambling" Gaffney advised the local
council would "work with retailers and police"
to try to revive the initiative.
Fellas,
should we order a warrant to search their homes for
playing cards and poker software also.
Gambling
with your rights... don't let it happen to you.
Media
Man and Gambling911 advise readers to try to abide
to laws, rules and regulation, but do not give in
to The Thought Police. Need more clarification, go
rent John Carpenter's sci fi classic 'They Live' with
Roddy Piper, and then if your ready for the next level,
look up 'Casino Jack And The United States Of Money',
California Split and 'The Sting'. Don't do anything
we wouldn't do. Now, shuffle up and deal!

Roulette
"Winner" At Crown Casino Takes Them To Court
A
female patron of Crown Casino who won $3600 on a spin
of the roulette wheel, later to have her winnings
paid to another happy customer is taking the casino
to court.
The
punter put down a $100 chip on a number of the roulette
wheel a few weeks ago but did not realise the croupier
paid her winnings to a lucky gent until that person
departed the winning table.
Marite
Martin said a review of video footage by the casino
pit boss had backed up her story.
She
said she returned to the casino the following day
and believed she again saw the man but no action was
taken.
Crown
spokesman Gary O'Neill said he could not comment on
the case as it was due to go before the courts but
said the casino was still reviewing the matter. Procedures
for resolving bet disputes at Crown are approved by
the Victorian Casino and Gaming Authority. Might be
a case for Aussie casino king James Packer to green
light even more employment of honest and switched
folks at Crown. Yep, Crown Casino...'A World Of Entertainment',
especially for gaming and media analysts. Bet with
your head, not over it, and for Christ's sake, watch
those croupiers. See you at the bar.
