Welcome to my website tribute of Maroubra Beach. Please feel welcome to contact me regarding feedback, and any websites that you feel would be of benefit to promote on this site.

Maroubra Beach is located 20 minutes drive south from the City, and is four suburbs south of the world famous Bondi Beach.

Maroubra beaches stretches roughly along 1km of Australian shoreline, and the most prominent landmarks include: Pavilion Cafe, Maroubra Surf Lifesaving Club and South Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club and the top, middle and south car parks.

Locals and visitors agree, Maroubra Beach is one of the finest beaches in Australia, if not the world!

In 2000, work commenced to restore Maroubra Beach to it's former glory. It's my understanding that in excess of 10 million dollars was put into the project. The product was finished in late 2001.

There is still some work to do in the area on more of a local community basis.

Community Initiatives Group helped make Maroubra Beach Skatepark a reality in July 2002

Highlights of Maroubra Beach include the awesome surf, relaxed attitude (not the surfers when they are chasing waves), the good looking and friendly women, and the blokes are pretty cool also. In addition, the shops are in easy walking distance.

Maroubra also has a few clubs, or gangs if you like!

They are pretty harmless, I know a few of the fellas. Just don't get on the wrong side of them.

The "Bra Boys" and The Maroubra Boardrider's are who I'm talking about. Then there is just the Maroubra Seals Sports and Community Club. Media Man Australia feel that the 'Bra Boys have unfairly been singled out.

Maroubra has a great culture, and a "locals only" feel, and the 'Bra Boys help keep it that way.

Residents of Maroubra will not allow it to go the way of Bondi, Coogee, Surfers's Paradise, and you know the rest.

News Flash: Maroubra's "Lexington Republic Army" aka LRA are the worst thing about Maroubra. To date, the Police has a great deal more work to do. Maroubra wants these "youth" locked up. As they say, old enough to do the crime, old enough to do the time. This is what you have being hearing about on the TV and Radio around Australia.

Update: June 2002

Maroubra Beach is finally getting a skatepark! (Officially will be opened in November 2002, however, skate action by the locals has been going on for months)! The fence is coming down!
