Malabar

Malabar is situated between Sydney's Maroubra Beach and Little Bay.

Malabar Headland is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places in Australia, let along the world.

"The Friends of Malabar Headland" (FoMH) is a community group that formed in April 2000 to protect the natural and cultural heritage of Malabar Headland.

News:

I attended the Draft Community Plan of Management meeting held in Bowen Library, Randwick on the 29th August 2002.

The FoMH put forward a Proposal for Boora National Park on Malabar Headland, that was well received by those in attendance at this historical event.

Speakers in the well-attended meeting, in order of appearance included:

Professor Paul Adams, Professor of Biology

Peter Ryan, Chairperson of FoMH

Professor Mike Archer, Director of Australian Museums

Ken Foster, La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council

The Hon Bob Car, Premier of New South Wales

Councilor Dominic Sullivan, Mayor of Randwick

*Ken Foster had the final say on the stand, for the evening

I posted the following message on the online group for FoMH website on the 31st August 2002:

G'day all

It was a pleasure to attend the Draft Community Plan of Management Plan meeting at Bowen Library last Thursday.

The website links section of the group is impressive, however, the WaveCam Maroubra link is not working, and this will be the case for the foreseeable future.

In fact, the entire Wavecam Australia site is down and the homepage quotes "WAVECAM IS UNDERGOING MAINTENANCE For any inquiries, please email us".

ID Media www.idmedia.com.au is the parent company for the former surfing and lifestyle portal www.wavecam.com.au

I would suggest that WaveCam will not get back on the air.

Explanation: ID Media is out of business. *I am a former employee of ID Media, and former Telstra and Optus "Salesperson of the Month".

ID Media was yet another victim of the dotcommers "gone south".

I will be writing an article on why "Media leaves the dotcommers for Dead", so stay tuned for that one.
