The most recognizable wrestler in the world and a mainstream celebrity.

Actually considered a career in music as a bass player at one point.

Wrestled in the Mid-Southern Area, WWF (as a rulebreaker), AWA and Japan before going to the WWF and beginning his run as a headliner

Managed at various points in his career by Jimmy Hart, Freddie Blassie and Elizabeth.

Has parlayed ring success into a career in movies and television.

His matches with Andre the Giant (Wrestlemania III and the Main Event) were seen by more people than any matches in history.

After years with the WWF, Hogan signed with WCW on June 11, 1994.

On July 7, 1996, revealed himself to be the third "Outsider" and joins with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in forming the nWo.

On November 26, 1998, on "The Tonight Show," announces his retirement and plans to run for the presidency. He quickly returned to wrestling.

On April 20, 1999, underwent arthoscopic knee surgery in Birmingham, Ala. by Dr. James Andrews. He makes a full recovery and gets back in the ring.

- Loses to The Giant in Detroit, Mich. on October 29, 1995 by DQ . *Hogan's manager Jimmy Hart signed a contract agreeing to allow the title to change hands on a DQ. The title is later vacated.

- Defeated The Giant in Sturgis, S.D. on August 10, 1996. - Lost to Lex Luger in Auburn Hills, Mich. on August 4, 1997.

- Defeated Lex Luger in Sturgis, S.D. on August 9, 1997.

- Lost to Sting in Washington, D.C. on December 28, 1997. *Due to the controversial ending to the title change and rematch the next night, the title is vacated, and Sting defeats Hogan on February 22, 1998, in San Francisco, Calif. to claim the title.

- Defeated Randy Savage in Colorado Springs, Col. on April 20, 1998.

- Lost to Bill Goldberg in Atlanta, Ga. on July 6, 1998.

- Defeated Kevin Nash in Atlanta, Ga. on January 4, 1999. *Nash allowed Hogan to pin him.
