In a major upset and for the second year running television
host Rove McManus was crowned Australia's most popular
television personality at last night's 46th TV Week
Logie Awards, shutting out the widely tipped Delta
also outscored previous Gold Logie winner Georgie
Parker and actors Lisa Chappell and John Wood (for
his eighth consecutive nomination) to win his second
who admitted "I adore Rove so if Rove was to
get it tonight I would be so happy," left empty-handed
after being beaten by McManus for the gold and by
McLeod's Daughters star Lisa Chappell for the Most
Popular Actress Silver Logie.

Ten's youth drama The Secret Life of Us, which was
recently taken off air after a drop in its popularity
this year, was rewarded with a Logie for Outstanding
of its stars, actress Deborah Mailman, was also a
winner, taking out a Silver Logie for Outstanding
Ten made a surprise win in drama, with After The Deluge
winning Outstanding Mini-Series/Telemovie, beating
Blackjack (Ten), Marking Time (ABC), The Postcard
Bandit (Nine) and The Shark Net (ABC).
Barrett, who starred in After the Deluge, also won
a Logie for Outstanding Actor in a Drama.
and daughter act Kath & Kim tied for Outstanding
Comedy Series, with the political satire CNNN.
& Kim was nominated for Most Popular Light Entertainment
or Comedy, a category won by McManus's Rove [Live].

Idol winner Guy Sebastian.
Newton, Mel Brooks, Paul Hogan, Jana Wendt and Bold
& The Beautiful star Ronn Moss presented. Bridie
Carter from McLeod's Daughters, model Megan Gale,
Jamie Durie, the Saddle Club girls and Claudia Karvan
were among guests. Before the start of the awards
at Crown Casino, hosted by Eddie McGuire, the red
carpet spectacular proved its usual eye-popping mix
of faux pax and triumphs.
Logies fashion tragic Susie Elelman took line honours
for most desperate attention-seeking ploy when she
whipped off the hood of her black-sequinned cape to
reveal a freshly shaved head.
on the read carpet, cleavage was popular, along with
shades of green and champagne.
Little trotted out a self-made black velvet strapless
gown, embellished with white doves as her "tribute
to peace on earth."
others providing this year's fashion misses were Pizza's
Maria Venuti and Annalise Braakensiek, in cleavage-baring
designs that were simply too loud and outrageous for
what was, for the most part, a refined fashion affair.
